On December 11, delegation of teachers and students from the School of International and Public Affairs of Jilin University went to the Confucius Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University of Russia to conduct the "Investigation on the Construction and Development of Confucius Institutes in Northeast Asia". The purpose of this visit is to understand the construction and development of Confucius Institute and the current situation of Chinese teaching in that region, and lay a foundation for further promotion of Chinese teaching there. Natalia Josephus, deputy dean of the Confucius Institute of Far East Federal University of Russia, and nearly ten faculty members of the Confucius Institute met with representatives of teachers and students and held a discussion.

The symposium stepped into the theme in a fascinating introduction film of the Confucius Institute at Far Eastern Federal University of Russia. First of all, the delegation from the school of International and Public Affairs expressed its sincere admiration for the outstanding achievements of the Confucius Institute at Far Eastern Federal University. Then, Mr. Li Menglong, assistant professor of SIPA, and the students of delegation asked Natalia Josephus, the deputy dean, about the difficulties encountered in the construction and operation of the Confucius Institute at the Far Eastern Federal University and the countermeasures. Natalia Josephus gave answers one by one in terms of the resource allocation of the number of teaching materials, the teaching language and methods, and the combination of teaching and practice. In spite of the challenges in work and life, the teachers of the Confucius Institute are still working diligently, with full enthusiasm for work and a rigorous teaching attitude to overcome difficulties and complete Chinese teaching.

Subsequently, the students of our school actively asked the teachers and volunteers of the Confucius Institute who were engaged in management and Chinese teaching on related issues. A number of teachers of Confucius Institute answered the questions of students one by one based on their own teaching practice.

Through exchanges, the delegation learned that the Confucius Institute adheres to the people-oriented approach, starting from the individual needs of students, and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. And based on the characteristics of systematization, flexibility and diversification of the curriculum, the Confucius Institute of Far Eastern Federal University will give full play to the advantages of professional guidance in the construction of Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools. In terms of construction of future, the Confucius Institute will learn from the shared thinking model and focus on the promotion of "Chinese + major" projects. It will also strive to make Chinese teaching more approachable and colorful through the forms of "Chinese + Law", "Chinese + Business", "Chinese + Public Relations" and so on, so that students can understand Chinese culture much better in their daily lives.

Finally, both sides expressed that they had benefited a lot from this symposium. Starting from academic exchanges and friendly cooperation, the delegation introduced the school of International and Public Affairs of Jilin University to teachers of Confucius Institute, including School-running characteristics and cooperative teaching. The delegation also emphatically answered questions that Russian personal was concerned, such as the application and admission of foreign students studying in China.

Through this field investigation in Russia, the students not only gained a more in-depth and detailed understanding of the Confucius Institute at the Russian Far Eastern Federal University, but also strengthened the faith of " Patriotism with Global vision" and mission of spreading Chinese culture.

The Confucius Institute at Far Eastern Federal University was established in 2006. It is the first Confucius Institute established in the Russian Federation and has twice won the honorary title of "Global Excellent Confucius Institute". As the earliest Confucius Institute established in Russia, the Confucius Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University has been providing high-quality Chinese language teaching services for local Chinese lovers for thirteen years, and has cultivated a batch of friendly envoys for Sino-Russian exchanges. They have made important contributions to improvement of Chinese teaching in the Far East, the promotion of Chinese culture and the enhancement of friendship between the people of two countries.
